Express yourself, without words.

This summer, WhatsApp finally made the move to release the full suite of emoji reactions on their app (after users had been clamoring about it for years š). Upon release, WA wanted a campaign that centered on reactions not as a form of convenienceābut as a form of connection.
To do this, I led the team at Media.Monks in creating a social campaign that centered on Reactions as a form of expression that went beyond words. Heroāing reactions functionality as a way to let the WhatsApp core audience, cultural crossovers, feel closer to family and friends.
We crafted small stories that were rich with authentic details, such as infusing Nigerian slang and textiles for our 'Outfittedā film or connecting the Japanese holiday that corresponded with š” for our āDangoā film.
